«There were jokes that you could cut the atmosphere between them with one Bond’s knives»
Daniel Craig famously said would «rather slash his wrists» than return to Bond, so when news seem to appear that he was in fact pencilled in for the 25th film, speculation was rife.
Craig previously said if he did another Bond film «it would only be for the money, a lot of it» but considering he’d already turned down, following the rumours, $150 millon it didn’t seem likely. According to The Sun’s Bizarre on Sunday a source has now alleged director Sam Mendes left the franchise. Sam Mendes directed Skyfall and Spectre, but his friendship with Craig was pushed to breaking point due while on the set of Spectre due to “creative differences” as Daniel was talking as Bond and as producer.
The source said: «Daniel and Sam were best buddies when tey first started working together and would constantly see them laughing and joking. But after filming had been going on for a while, things started to change. They were a few areas in which they had very different creative opinions and their friendship did become strained. There were jokes that you could cut the atmosphere between them with one of Bond’s knives»
The next Bond film, which reportedly has the working title Shatterhand, is expected to be released in November 2019. It will be the fifth time that Craig has stepped in 007’s shoes.
